Water Communion/ Sermon of September 9, 2007 Charlotte Cowtan
We celebrate our third annual Water Communion Service. People bring a small amount of water collected while on summer vacation or enjoying nearby water attractions (from river, lake, fountain or pool, etc.) Water Communion is a ritual to recognize how water flowing through all things demonstrates the “interdependent web of which we are a part.” We acknowledge a fundamental truth: without water there is no life. That morning we will symbolically gather the waters and renew our community connection to each other.
